| What is a phobia? |
| A phobia (from the Greek: phóbos, fear or morbid fear), is an intense and persistent fear of certain situations, activities, things, or people. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. |
| How is it managed? |
| Using a variety of tried and tested techniques, you will be helped to overcome your fear or phobia, allowing you to live your life free of the restrictions that such things place on you. We can often manage these issues in one or two sessions. |

| What is stress? |
| People use the word stress to represent the feelings and thoughts they have when it all seems too much, when they are overloaded and don't feel that they are able to deal with the demands placed upon them. they often feel that they are being pulled in many different directions. Anxiety can be a normal "alarm system" alerting you to danger. Anxiety can provide an extra spark to help you get out of danger. But sometimes anxiety can be out of control, giving you a sense of dread and fear for no apparent reason. This kind of anxiety can disrupt your life. |

| Depression and Anxiety |
| What is depression? |
| The word depressed is a common everyday word. People might say "I'm depressed" when in fact they mean "I'm fed up because I've had an argument, a bad week at work" and so on. Peaks and troughs of life are common and normal. Most people recover quite quickly and move on. Depression is very common. Almost anybody can develop the illness; it is definitely NOT a sign of weakness. What you cannot do is 'PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER' - no matter whether this is what you think you should be able to do, or what other people tell you to do. |
